Johann/John Ferrenburg
I am trying to find out all I can about John/Johann Ferrenburg. It seems that when he moved to the U.S. he started going by John, but originally his name was Johann. I don't have very much information about him. All I know for (almost) certain is that he was in Soldiers Delight Hundred in 1810 (according to their census). Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Stuffed like a turkey!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!? My turkey was not stuffed but I certainly am!? After baking the turkey, making homemade parsley dressing, mashed potatoes, and turkey gravy as well as green beans (not fresh but from a can) with fresh apple pie and ice cream or custard for desssert (whatever your heart desires) I am truly stuffed.? What I ate today is what I normal eat in three-day time frame!? LOL
Now it is time to knuckle down and really put the finishing touches on the shopping for Christmas...nope no Black Friday here!? Does not make sense to run out and get bumped and bustled to save a few pennies...nope not gonna happen!? :)

Windows XP versus Windows 7 for the Wikia
I have to say that on Windows XP the layout looks much prettier than it does on Windows 7...or maybe it is the way I have things set up on my computer. I also have a 27-inch television that doubles as my monitor so that could also be why...any ideas?
If I figure out why...then I will post the results!

Lainee versus Jaeljo
I am Lainee but unfortunately Lainee as a user name was taken on here so I had to go with Jaeljo which is composite of my first, middle, and last names. I guess I did not create an account under Lainee as when I tried to have the password sent to me, it did not come to me so I apologize now to whoever is using Lainee! :)
Getting the hang of it
Well, I think I might be getting the hang of this Wikia thing...I think. Every time I turn around I make a mistake but I also think I have figured out how to fix it also. LOL

Wandering Through the Generations
I've been wandering since 1993. I've traveled through many generations. Some of their surnames are; Chandler, Jensen, Lempke, Hanks, Philpott, Mathis, Miller, Rikard, Snow, Brown, Emmons, Mingle, Booth, Hart, Freed, Wymer, and Stout. The majority of my ancestors settled in Iowa, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maine, Massachusetts.
Family History
I recently worked on the family of my son-in-law. It had been a while since working on a family I knew little about and more interestingly, either did he. The term 'getting blood from a stone' was what it was like. Going backwards and forwards requesting little pieces of information here and there and although he is excited seeing where he originated, there is such a long way to go. He believes the family is from Ireland and so far I only have links to the U.K.
The research will continue and I may even ask for assistance from the expert volunteers located in the U.K. One thing for sure it is refreshing working on something and asking the old grey matter 'how do I do this and find that'.
Talk soon.

Testing Newly-Enabled Blog Feature on RAOGK wiki
The 1940 census opened today, reveiling info on our ancestors who were living through the Depression years. As the 1940 census was taken, WWII had already begun in Europe with the invasion of Poland. Thus, our ancestors might well have wondered if and/or when the USA would get drawn into the war.
This concludes my "test blog."
