General Guidelines

Before submitting your request, please read the Research Request Guidelines page.

• Submit as specific a request as possible -- don't be too general.

• Be sure to limit your request to areas in which the volunteer is offering to research. Do not ask the volunteer for out of area requests.

• If you do not find a volunteer in the area you need, check back again as new volunteers come along every day.

• Never make the same request of more than one volunteer at a time.

Note: RAOGK Administrative staff does NOT answer genealogical queries. Please locate a volunteer in the area that you seek for those type of questions.

The table below reflects the volunteers who were willing to do CALIFORNIA research at the time the original RAOGK site went down in the fall of 2011. What is lost is the contact information for these individuals.

Alameda	Becky Jensen	Information on where to get obituaries - which newspapers for which city and where they're archived so that mail requests can be made to the library/archive. You must provide an exact date of death. Information on Alameda County genealogical resources - I have a guide published by the local genealogical society. Lookups in the 1905-1939 California Death Index (CADI) - film exists at the LDS FHC near my home. I will go once/month, filling as many lookup requests as I can during that one trip. [The CADI online only covers 1945-present]
