When I was editing on the Zeal web directory, its owners misused the word "International" too. It means "between nations"; examples are WWF, NATO, UNICEF, and the Olympics. Single countries are not international. However, it seems that some residents of the United States think it means "non-US" and use it accordingly. I hope that this wiki will soon replace it (and its abbreviation) with something more accurate (and more meaningful to the 95% of the world's population who live outside the US). "World" would probably do, if you want something short.
