General Guidelines

When making requests of volunteers:

• Make requests specific -- avoid being too general.
• Make requests ONLY for the volunteer's specified research areas. (Do not ask for out-of-area requests.)
• Never ask more than one volunteer for the same request.
• Ask the volunteer what reimbursements they require: copies, gas, parking, etc.
• Negotiate an estimated completion time ... Remember: volunteers are not "on the clock," may research for multiple people, and respond reasonably as their time permits.

• check back again. (New volunteers sign up daily.)
• join the FB RAOGK groups -- RAOGK USA and/or RAOGK International and post your research request. (One of the group members may live in that area and be willing to help.)

IDAHO Volunteers

The list below includes volunteers who were willing to do research in the area covered by this page at the time the original RAOGK site went down in late 2011. What has been lost lost is the contact information for those individuals.

All	John Mutch	Will do obituary and other lookups in microfilmed Idaho newspapers at the Idaho Historical Library & Archives, given the death date and location. I can generally only do photocopies at 20 cents per page plus postage. I will reply to your request quickly, but I will not start researching until I have gotten your reply to my reply. That is so I know we are communicating - thanks!
All	Dick Larsen	Public Records lookups and copying. Can also do newspaper lookups if specific dates, locations are provided.
All	Jerry	IDAHO MINING FATALITIES, 1913-1940; with miner's name, can provide date, usually age and county of mine location. Accident report reference source for major fatal accidents for all years before 1999 if year and mine name or city is known.
All	Shelli	I can check deaths in all of Idaho 1911-1956. I can also help with censuses. I do not live in ID.

I am also willing to do cemetery lookups in some surrounding counties like Canyon, Blaine, and Idaho, but requests would have to wait until I am going there to visit family.

I well be glad to take photos of any cemetery in Bear Lake county, as well as to go the the court house to look up information and the local newspaper to research obits. (note I may be on vacation when a request comes in, but I shall respond to your request as soon as I see it and give you an idea when I can do the research or take the pics.
