General Guidelines

When making requests of volunteers:

• Make requests specific -- avoid being too general.
• Make requests ONLY for the volunteer's specified research areas. (Do not ask for out-of-area requests.)
• Never ask more than one volunteer for the same request.
• Ask the volunteer what reimbursements they require: copies, gas, parking, etc.
• Negotiate an estimated completion time ... Remember: volunteers are not "on the clock," may research for multiple people, and respond reasonably as their time permits.

This info includes in part: prison, asylum, inmate, mug shots & Bertillon records, wanted & missing posters, photos, poor/alms/work houses, orphanages, sanitariums, court records, road/prison camp, executions, pardons, convict ships info etc. This info covers all U.S. states [and other countries] and all time frames from 1400's to present but primarily 18th & 19th century.

ALL	Shelli Steedman	I can check for marriages 1633-1850 and deaths 1970-2003 Not all counties are listed. I can give you a free link to check 1855 and 1865 state censuses. I can look up Federal censuses in any state.
ALL	Cate	Lookups for birth, marriage and death registers 1841-1915 (Note: 1911-1915 death registers are not posted yet. I cannot do lookups in them as I do not live in MA).
ALL	Janice Graves	Obituaries after 1900 for ALL COUNTIES in Massachusetts (except for the following Suffolk Co. towns - South Boston, East Boston, Boston, Chelsea, Charlestown,Brighton, Roxbury, West Roxbury, Hyde Park Dorchestor, Revere and Boston). The exception to the above is if they lived in another town outside of Suffolk Co. towns listed above and died in a Boston hospital. NO COMMON IRISH NAMES as defined by me. MUST HAVE EXACT DATE OF DEATH INCLUDING MONTH DAY AND YEAR.
ALL	Patricia Sheekey	Birth, Marriage & Death records, 1841-1910. Online Records only. I am only able to transcribe the records- I am not able to offer the original records.
ALL	Elizabeth Brown	BMD's, Census, free Cemetery records and Gravestone Photos if local, Will consider all special requests.
Barnstable	James W. Gould	Town of Barnstable only. Will look up births, marriages and deaths 1886-1989. Burial records for Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit, 1819 to present; will transcribe inscriptions. Location of homes in Cotuit, Santuit and Oyster Harbors.
Barnstable	Cynthia Moore	Public Records library lookups and copying. Gravestone pictures. Cemeteries: Peoples, Union, Seaside,Bethel(South Chatham).I go to Seaside just about every Sunday. and visit the Eldredge Public Library once a month weather permitting.Would consider Harwich or Orleans cemeteries if specific instructions are included.
Barnstable	Nancy Mumford	Cemetery inscription lookups for Town of Barnstable only (have access to alphabetical listing). Will take digital or print photos of tombstones if you know what cemetery your ancestor is buried in, towns of Barnstable, Sandwich, Yarmouth and Dennis. Obit help, Barnstable county - you must have EXACT date of death (1936 to present only). Can check TOWN of Barnstable vital records 1935-1989 in town reports.
Barnstable	Charlet E. Roskovics	Obituaries listed in the FALMOUTH ENTERPRISE (1896 to present), CAPE COD TIMES (1936 to present). Name plus month, day and year of death must be indicated. I will take digital gravestone pictures in the Falmouth villages but many are available online through website www.falgen.org/cem. The obits and pictures would be e-mailed directly to recipient thereby saving printing and postage fees; however, I may charge for mileage.
Barnstable	Louise King	Gravestone pictures.
Barnstable	Martha Day	I will look into local sources..wills, probate, etc. I found I could seldom find obits. I will take tombstone pictures, though find many are unreadable.
Berkshire	Nicholas H.Wright	Public Records look ups and copying, courthouse & library. Obituaries. I prefer to limit my activities to the Town of Williamstown, Berkshire County.
Bristol	Valerie King	North Attleboro Only Still photos of tombstones and Public Records lookups and copying.
Bristol	Jim Tilbe	Raynham only please! I Will check vital records and First Congregational Church records. I will send digital photos of tombstones.
Bristol	Maryann C. Martel	Public records lookups, obits, pictures of graves in Fall River, Somerset, Swansea, Westport, Dartmouth, and Freetown/Assonet, plus I have the B.M.C. DURFEE HIGH School Alumni Directory which has all the graduates since the school was open.

Cemeteries: North Burial Ground or Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River, MA, Will need specific date of death or birth to look up in Newspapers. Oak Grove Cemetery, I will need specific location. Please ask for the nearest cross streets in the cemetery, as lots are not indicated. I have a map of the streets. Please confirm stone exists.
Bristol	Darlene Adams	Tombstones photos in Easton and Stoughton, only. Please verify that the marker exists.
Bristol	Becki Errington	Public Records lookups and copying, courthouse & library. Gravestone pictures, Reimbursement may be required. I will do research in New Bedford, Dartmouth, and Fairhaven. I will happily research and copy birth, death and marriage records. I will also research and copy obituaries if you can supply a death date. Will take pics from St. John Cemetery, Sacred Heart Cemetery, Griffin Street Cemetery, Point Road Cemetery, Oak Grove Cemetery, Pine Grove Cemetery, and the Rural Cemetery in New Bedford, MA. Possibly some cemeteries in Dartmouth and Fairhaven, if I can find it.
Dorchester	Debra Branigan	Will do lookups in the book The Ancestry of Russell Makepeace of Marion, MA 1904-1986. This has his ancestry to Thomas Makepeace of Dorchester, MA and many allied lines.
Eastern MA	Chandra Lambiase	Still photos of tombstones and Public Records lookups and copying. I am available to do look ups at State and National Archives as well as state vital records office. I can visit cemetaries in Eastern Mass only.
Essex	David W. Oram	Videotaping Cemeteries. Still photos of tombstones and Public Records lookups and copying. Any B/M/D records for Massachusetts. Preferably before 1905
Essex	Virginia Swinson	Still photos of tombstones and Public Records lookups and copying. Gloucester ONLY
Essex	Jodi	Obit look-ups for the ANDOVER Newspapers from 1853 onward ONLY. You should have a death date to make it possible to locate the obit. The paper is a weekly paper and RARELY includes obits for surrounding towns, or other towns in Essex County. If the person did not die in Andover, contact the library in the town where the death occured for the obit please.
Essex	Barry Gates	NO Obituaries, Gravestone pictures. Beverly, Danvers, and Middleton cemeteries ONLY.
Essex	MaryAnn Ankiewicz	Gravestone pictures. Reimbursement will be required. Prefer Southern Essex County. Please provide path and plot number (exact location). Will email photo or mail if preferred.

Essex	Mary Traynor	Obit look-ups for Lawrence. should have a death date to make it possible to locate the obit. If time permits, cemetery photos may be available.
Essex	Efi Polisson	Still photos of tombstones and Public Records lookups and copying cemetery and vital record lookups and copies for Gloucester, will take photos of cemeteries with digital camera
Essex	Kim Falchek	Public Records library look ups and copying. Gravestone pictures. Reimbursement may be required. Any cemeteries in the north shore, MA.
Essex	Jim Collins	BMD's from city/town clerk, after 1850: Beverly, Wenham, Hamilton, Ipswich ONLY. Deaths only after 1910, nothing after 1960. Obit and grave pix if time permits.
Franklin	Mark Fairbrother	Public Records library look ups and copying. Obituaries in The Recorder(Greenfield). Gravestone pictures. Reimbursement may be required. Town records, burial records, digital film photos of gravestones(weather permitting) in the Town of Montague. Will do similar look ups in other Franklin County towns as time, weather, and information supplied allows.
Franklin	Tina Peters	Public Records library look ups and copying. Will look up Obits in The Recorder, Greenfield MA if you provide specific name & date published. Will photo gravestones in Franklin County AND bordering towns in Berkshire and Hampshire Counties. Can do specific lookups at Berkshire Antheneum, Pittsfield Public Library.
Hampden	Dave Robison	Public Record lookups and copying, courthouse & library. Obituaries. Gravestone pictures. Snow and ice can be a problem here in the northeast, so fulfilling cemetery photo request in the winter can be virtually impossible. The list of cemeteries in the general area is long and perhaps too long to list here. The only cemeteries that present some difficulty are the ancient cemeteries that are fenced in, gated and locked. They can still be accessed most of the time through contact with the various town/city halls.
